More than meets the eye Summer Learning Journey

Let’s imagine that you met Sir Edmund Hillary in real life and were able to interview him. On your blog, post five questions that you would like to ask Sir Edmund Hillary about his life.

Question 1
What was your horrifying moment when you
first climbed the Mt Cook Mountain?

Question 2
How did you manage to climb the immense mountain?

Question 3
Did you use any equipment to climb the Mt Cook Mountain?

Question 4
What was your memorable moment when you were world wide famous?

Question 5
Were you afraid of climbing the Mt Cook Mountain by yourself?

Hi Ana,

It's Leslie here, a member of the Summer Learning Journey team, reading your blog from my home in Canada.

You've formed some really good questions that I also would like to ask of Sir Edmund Hillary. He actually climbed to the summit with a partner, Tenzing Norgay. Tenzing was a sherpa from Nepal who assisted Sir Edmund in preparing for and accomplishing the climb. They're both heroes!!!

I can't imagine being a mountain climber myself. Can you? The cold and the steepness of the ice cliffs would stop me!! But clearly there are those who love to undertake a challenge and overcome it. Are you that type of person?

I'm glad that you've decided to be a part of this Summer Learning Journey program. I'll continue to enjoy reading your blog!!

Cheers,

Leslie
