Summer Learning Journey Activity 1: Weaving a Tall Tale

On your blog, tell us whether or not you would like to try flax weaving.

I think that trying out new things is great especial when it's something that has
done way back. Some cultures do this and they put make a basket and put food
in there. I've never mention that before. I would like to try flax weaving and why
because it will be useful and fun to do when I have free time.

Hey Ana,
It's me, Lavinia from Waikowhai Primary School. I really like how you put the eason down about why you would like to weave.
What you could think of next time is, you could maybe write a little more or a reflection. Other than that, well done!!!
If you would like to check out my blog, here is the link. wpslaviniac.blogspot.com.
I can't wait to see more of your work. I hope you had a great Christmas. See Ya Later Blogger!!!

Kia ora Ana,

My name is Mikey. I'm a member of the Summer Learning Journey team, along with Izzy, Patricia, Sophie and Lee. I'm so glad to see that you took part in this year's programme and kept your literacy learning going throughout the summer holidays. It looks like you were very busy, completing lots of activities - he whetu koe! (You're a star!) :)

Those are some great reasons for wanting to give flax weaving a go. When I was in primary school (a long time ago now), we did flax weaving. I remember making flowers and kete (baskets). It was lots of fun! What would you try and make out of flax?

I look forward to hearing from you soon. Until then, happy blogging! :)
